What type of equipment can I get?
Body armor, night vision equipment, first aid supplies, weapons, surveillance equipment, Kevlar helmets, vehicles, clothing, aircraft, ATVs, generators, etc.

How do I get equipment?
You can acquire property 3 ways:

• By visiting a DRMO.  Your Screening Authorization Letter will allow as many as 2 of your authorized screeners to physically screen (search) for excess DoD property at any of the DRMOs worldwide.  A complete list of all DRMOs with phone/fax numbers and other information may be found at http://www.drms.dla.mil/html/drmo_sites.html.  You go to the DRMO and look at the equipment.  You then go back to your office and request the equipment.
• Internet screening may be done at http://www.drms.dla.mil.  
• Visiting the Waunakee warehouse.  We keep a small inventory of items at the warehouse.  You are welcome to come and browse.

Restrictions on equipment:
The equipment is available "where is, as is".  

Any DoD excess equipment received in the past or future must be placed into used within one year of receipt, and the equipment must remain in use.  The equipment is subject at any time for physical inspection by OJA Staff while under restriction.  PRIOR TO DISPOSAL OF ANY DoD EXCESS EQUIPMENT, YOU MUST SUBMIT A WRITTEN REQUEST TO THE STATE COORDINATOR.  The written request must include a copy of the 1348 document that you received to acquire the property.  When approved, disposal must be done according to state and local laws, rules, and regulations pertinent to the disposal of public equipment.  Equipment requiring demilitarization must be returned to a DRMO through this office.  The best source of information about the program is the LESO web site http://www.dla.mil/j-3/leso.  You may request additional information by contacting Foundation Staff at 608-849-2451 or via email at This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .
